FAQ/Terms & Conditions

Can I just turn up at the farm?

No, it is really important that you contact us and pre-book a visit to the farm using the link. This is for both safety reason and to ensure your experience is the best it can be. We are not a petting farm.

Are there age restrictions for the walks?

Yes, we cannot allow children under the age of 12 years on walks at this time for safety reasons. However, we have had lots of interest from the under 12 age group. That’s why we have included Meet and Greets and Private Group Bookings. This should ensure that they don’t miss out on an Alpaca Experience that is age appropriate.

Is the walk strenuous?

No, the walk is more of a gentle stroll around our farm. It is approximately 1 mile and can take up to an hour. The walk is across fields and paths with some little hills.

What should I wear for a walk?

We recommend that you wear water proof clothing and sensible walking shoes. It can get muddy here on the farm and it would be a shame if you ruined your new shoes.

How do I book?

Contact us using the link. We will get back to you ASAP to arrange your Alpaca Experience.

I need to reschedule my Alpaca Experience?

Don’t worry, just make sure you contact us before 48 hours of your scheduled walk. We will then reschedule to a time and date that suits you. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate this if within 48 hours.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, these can be purchased by contacting us using the link. Once purchased, the voucher will be sent to you via email to print off.

How do I redeem my voucher?

Contact us using the link to book a place. Let us know you have a voucher and we will ask for your voucher code.

What is the best way to contact you?

The best way to contact us is via the website. We might not be able to answer the phone if we are out on the farm. We do check our emails regularly throughout the day.

Terms and Conditions

Please read our Terms & Conditions for our Alpaca Experiences. Customers will be asked to sign in on arrival to say that they have read and understood these terms and conditions.

  1. All visits to the farm must be pre-booked. We will be unable to accommodate any unexpected visitors and no you can’t just ‘have a quick look’. As you can imagine we are really busy here on the farm.

  2. All experiences are supervised by a suitably trained and experienced member of our family, customers are not permitted to take the animals unaccompanied or leave the group with the animal.

  3. All experiences include a safety briefing at the start, anyone not adhering to the information provided in this briefing and pose a potential risk to people and/or animals, will be asked to leave the farm without compensation. Alpacas may kick if guests do not adhere to the briefing. We will not accept any responsibility for injuries incurred.

  4. The alpaca experiences take place on our home farm with neighbouring cattle and sheep farms nearby. Guests must not walk on neighbouring farms or approach animals on these farms. We will not accept any responsibility if injuries are incurred by accessing neighbouring farms.

  5. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children under the age of 12 years are unable to attend an Alpaca Walk experience for safety reasons. We run the Meet and Greet experiences for families with younger children.

  6. Hand washing facilities/hand sanitiser are provided. As part of Covid-19 regulations and good hygiene practise we ask that you wash your hands when you arrive at the farm, before refreshments are consumed and as you leave the farm. Those who accompany children have responsibility to ensure that adequate hand washing takes place.

  7. Please dress appropriately for a farm. It can get wet and muddy here so wellies and rain coats are highly recommended. Wearing your new white trainers is probably not a great idea.

  8. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your planned experience will be invited to reschedule or receive a refund. Cancellations under 48 hours cannot be rescheduled and will not be subject to refund. Cancellations must take place via email to curraghduff@gmail.com. You are unable to join us once the tour has started for safety reasons.

  9. Gift vouchers must be redeemed by date on the voucher. No refunds can be given for a voucher. Cancellation policy also applies to bookings made with a. voucher. Top up payment may be required if prices have increased since voucher was purchased.

  10. It rains a lot in Galway! We continue with all experiences even in the rain. We suggest that you dress appropriately for the weather so you can enjoy the experience. However, the safety of our visitors and animals is paramount, so if weather warnings suggest risk of safety we will cancel the experience and offer an alternative date suitable to you or offer a refund.

  11. We will request an email address and mobile phone number from you on booking and will leave messages on both of these if we need to cancel an alpaca experience, please check as we will not be held responsible for missed messages on your part.

  12. A risk assessment has been undertaken for the alpaca experiences and is available upon request.

  13. We like to take photos during each experience and publish these to our social media profiles and website, please let us know if you do not want your photo taken. You will be asked on the day if this is okay.

  14. We have other animals on the farm. For safety reasons you are only authorised to go into an animal enclosure with a member of the Curraghduff Team.

  15. Light refreshments are provided following the experiences. This will include tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice and biscuits (subject to availability). It is your responsibility to ask about ingredients regarding allergies. We are unable to provide an alternative.
